Movie Poster Promo

Our main character is The Lady in White, who is a women from WWII. She roams around causing tragedies, she either has no face or a face covered in blood.  The Lady in White is played by me (Daileen Barton). Taylor Chang  plays a scared little girl who doesn't want to see the lady in white but has heard of her, Tu Nyguyen plays a normal person who has heard about the lady in white, Neliza Diaz-Iannuzzi also plays a normal person who has heard the myths and legends. I think I make the perfect actor for the lady in white because I have heard about her from my grandparents who lived in the Philippines, and to be honest we actually got the idea from those stories. Taylor Chang also makes a great actor of being a scared little girl because when we read the voice script she seemed really scared. 

Our title is The Lady in White, we called it the lady in white because its a lady who wears a white dress and roams around. On the poster there are the actors and who they play in the movie. I'm also including critiques and our movie producers.  

Proactive or Procrastination?

I am kind of a little bit of both, because I will do my homework but then I will also party and hang loose. I'm part proactive because once I find out I have homework I start as soon as I can, but then I'm also procrastination because if I finish the homework I automatically go on my phone. Also if I have a ton of homework I become full proactive. But if I only have a little bit of homework I become like 85% procrastination. Also if I'm listening to music my work will be finished in little time.

When I have tons of homework I try to see how long it would take me to do the homework and then I try to see how much free time I would have left. But when I have little homework I don't really care when I finish it, so I use my free time and then I do my homework later. Also sometimes I just use my free time and forget about the homework. But normally I get the work done the day I get it, if it's the weekday. Usually if I get homework on the weekend I relax the whole weekend then on Sunday I rush and freak out about the homework especially if it's a lot.

The things I would change about my habits is by becoming more proactive and less procrastination. I would do that by starting my homework the minute I get home and blocking out all the noise that my family makes and put my undivided focus on my homework. Also I would shut my door and put myself in my own little world where I get everything done and don't get bothered.To become more proactive, I would put all my distractions away. Maybe I would be 15% procrastination and 85% proactive.

My poem is about Cultural Relation and how two different places can be so alike. The impact that my visuals have is showing how two different cultures dress and how beautiful the places are and alike. Another impact that my visuals have is making you feel like you have experienced the culture. The visuals I have for my poem is my old hula group, the thai festival called Loi Katong, some pictures of hula concerts, and tahitian costumes.

The special effects I used was ken burns and different transitions. Some of the kens burn effect show how the thai people wear gold on their heads and hands. So with some images you get a close up. The overall meaning is that its suppose to grab you're attention and show how the cultures are alike, but somewhat different.

I kind of am satisfied with my results because I showed the two cultures that I have experienced and got to share it with everyone. But I could have made it better by trying to get either photos or video of turtles, a dragon statue, Thailand, and Tahiti because I only had pictures of hula, Tahitian, and the thai festival.

Photoshop Experiment

We did the photoshop experiment to get to learn what we can do in that application.Also I think we did that experiment to know that we will be using that app when needed to make different kinds of project. Also we did this photoshop experiment to explore and figure things on our own. The photoshop experiment was good and we learned how to do effect so the next time we try it we have a better knowledge of it. The photoshop experiment was also fun because we just explored without being told what to do.

The thing that was oh so right was that I learned how to make an ombre effect digital. The thing that was oh so wrong was that it was kinda difficult to get used to because I didn't know how to use that application. For this experiment I tried different things like basic stuff trying to figure out were all the things I need to use such as the paint effect, eraser, pencil effect, and many more. After a few tries I figured out how to use the application and do certain effects and many more. Also with the photoshop experiment it was kinda confusing because it had all these different tools and layouts that we were not use to, at least for some of us.

Hiki No Behind the Scenes

Our project idea is about Leilia's uncle. Its kinda difficult because we haven't had time to meet up and whenever we try to meet up we become busy or something important. Also the cameras are all checked out whenever we try to film. The project is not really going so well but we are trying our best. We are trying to get pass the road blocks,but when we pass one we hit another one.

When the camera isn't rolling we are either getting a person ready to be interviewed or we are having a discussion about the project. Also when the camera isn't rolling we are checking our footage of the interview if the lighting is okay,is the sound good, ect.

One thing I can do to help my team is to get footage because we only have footage of our interviews and we need more b-roll. Most of the footage on the camera aren't footage only the interviews are the others are pictures. So that why I can help my team get footage of Kauai.

Back To School

My favorite moment was when I started soccer. The team that I’m on is AYSO, I was a little late to the first practice but I guess thats ok because it was the first practice and I didn’t have a ride so I had to call my aunties and uncles. My aunty Vanessa was the only one to answer luckily she wasn’t doing anything, so she brought me to practice. So our practices was twice a week Mondays and Wednesdays and on wednesdays my grandma , aunty, and me would do the farmers market down the street from Kapaa Middle School so I would walk down and help them for a little bite then either my uncle or aunty would pick me up from the market and I would go to practice.

My biggest challenge would be surviving in a cast for 6 weeks and not playing soccer. I love soccer a lot and I was never able to play soccer until now because my family always thought it was dangerous, yes soccer is dangerous and I learned that the hard way by breaking my wrist. Another big challenge would be getting use to using 1 hand for 6 weeks because the doctor said I can’t lift anything heavier then a cotton ball. Trying not to lift anything heavier then a cotton ball is kinda hard for me because I do a lot of housework after finishing my homework. Also the doctor said I can’t use anything to scratch my arm so when it gets itchy i have to flick the cast, but it’s kinda hard because my skin is sensitive so I sometimes scratch it with a backscratcher handle. Can’t wait to get this cast off.

To be successful this year I will turn in all my homework, always pay attention in class, and set high standards for myself. This year I am setting a goal for myself which is to get a 4.0 for the whole school year and don’t get any grade that is lower then a B. Also to be successful this year I will put a lot of effort into my classwork, homework, and projects for all my classes. Another way I will be successful this year is by giving it my all in practicing and real games for soccer. I’ll also be successful this year by helping in the community and serving my church.
